PRESS RELEASE: Healthwatch Doncaster joins forces with RDASH to set up a wheelchair forum
Hearing people's experiences
After regular discussions with RDASH on how best to capture stories from wheelchair users on their journeys in using local health and social care services, Healthwatch Doncaster is promoting this opportunity to help generate debate and receive data that can be fed back to service providers.
Healthwatch Doncaster Chief Operating Officer Andrew Goodall said:
“We are looking for people to be part of the forum so that they can challenge, support and improve the quality of wheelchair services and we are actively encouraging people to become part of the forum so that personal experiences can influence change and development.”
Work is on-going to host drop-in sessions so interested people can find out more information about the forum, and be aware of how Healthwatch Doncaster – and its online Feedback Centre – can provide a conduit to channel their views on services to drive change.
Steve Baxter, Head of Wheelchair Services at RDASH, said: “We’re delighted to be working in tandem with Healthwatch Doncaster on the development of this Forum, and await a group of wheelchair users who can help deliver feedback to improve services.”
The drop-in sessions have been organised to take place at
- 3.30-5.30pm on 20 February 2018 at Armthorpe Community Centre, 20 Church St, Armthorpe, Doncaster DN3 3AG and
- 7.00-9.00pm on 1 March 2018 at Armthorpe Community Centre, 20 Church St, Armthorpe, Doncaster DN3 3AG.
If you would like to be part of a forum where your knowledge and experience can improve local services then come along and find out more.
