Micro-Grant Report: North Doncaster Development Trust (2017)
The purpose of the session was to get people together and have a good time at a Vintage Tea Party where they can interact with others, play musical bingo, do a quiz and be served copious amounts of sandwiches, cakes and tea.
Conclusion
- We learnt that there are more socially isolated people in our area than we realised.
- We put on events at the centre and sometimes no one comes and we hadn’t realised that it is because they cannot actually get here mainly due to mobility issues and not having the transport links and putting on the transport made all the difference
- We also realised that putting a small charge to the tickets gave it value, we have put on free activities and people do not turn up but putting a small charge to the event means that they turned up and we now have a small pot of money to put on something else.
