Chief executive receives top accolade
Kathryn Singh, Chief Executive of Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), was presented with the award at the Women in Leadership Network event for health and care organisations across South Yorkshire. The presentation was made just days before she was due to retire from the NHS after 35 years’ service.
Kathryn, who retired from RDaSH yesterday (Dec 15), said: “It is such an honour to receive this award and for all of the supportive and heart warming messages I’ve received. I have loved my career and I hope I’ve encouraged other women to follow their career aspirations in the NHS and elsewhere.
“However, it is now time for me to retire and focus on the next chapter of my life with my husband, who has also retired today after 47 years of working in the NHS.
“My seven plus years as CEO at RDaSH have been the highlight of my career and it has been an absolute privilege to serve both our patients and colleagues alike,” added Kathryn. “I have had the pleasure of working with some immensely talented people who have both inspired and humbled me in equal measure. The challenges of the last two years with COVID-19 have been made bearable through the enormous dedication and commitment I have seen in our RDaSH people.”
The new CEO has just been appointed. Toby Lewis will take to the helm in March 2023 with Sheila Lloyd covering as interim CEO until then.
