Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals’ Charity has of 22nd August 2022, officially launched its ‘Our Shining Stars’ campaign.

NHS South Yorkshire is delighted that three providers from our region have been shortlisted at this year’s Health Service Journal Awards (HSJ) Awards, the most prestigious showcase for NHS services.

Doctors and nurses at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) are urging local people to use health services wisely throughout the long-weekend at the end of the month (27 to 29 August).

A local waste management and recycling company have completed a charity walk to raise funds for Doncaster Royal Infirmary in memory of Kate Raven, co-owner of the business. The employees of Ecoefficiency arranged a 5km, alongside a family fun day.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals held their first charity skydiving challenge at Skydive Hibaldstow, raising £7700 for the Serenity Appeal. The Appeal will enable the Trust to significantly enhance the maternity bereavement services.

The Chair of Montagu Hospital Comforts Fund was presented with a plaque by the Comforts Fund Trustees as she steps down from the role. Nora Gill, who trained as a nurse at St Luke’s in Bradford began working at Montagu Hospital in 1957.

Over £9 million will be invested at Montagu Hospital in the coming months, as plans to further expand the site’s Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) are approved by the National CDC Programme, with support from the South Yorkshire integrated Care Board

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals has welcomed Thunder the Therapy dog, an 8-year-old Woolly Siberian Husky known for his soothing abilities. Thunder is renowned for his ability to lower stress & anxiety levels of hospital staff and patients

Healthwatch Doncaster are working with the NHS and Doncaster Council on a project to listen to people about their own and their loved ones experiences of using Dementia services.

On Tuesday 5 July, and throughout the month, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) will be taking part in the NHS Big Tea to celebrate the 74th birthday of the NHS and say a huge thank you to all of our amazing colleagues across DBTH.

An exciting new research study launches in Doncaster today (6 July), called ‘Born and Bred in Doncaster’ (BaBi-D).
