A dedicated decade to making a difference - 10 years of Healthwatch Doncaster!
By listening to YOUR views and opinions change has happened, this was showcased at Doncaster Gallery Library and Museum how Healthwatch Doncaster has delivered impactful, meaningful and creative engagement to capture people’s voice.
Steve Shore our former Chair delivered his reflections on our remarkable achievements and shared our joint vision for an overarching South Yorkshire Healthwatch in the not so distant future. We also heard from Director of digital Katie Dowson on how our partnership working benefits people and their healthcare plus Jon Finegold shared his passion and enthusiasm on the power of patient voice thanks to his expertise by experience of participating in patient participation groups and networks making a direct difference within primary care.
We’d like to thank every person who has engaged with us over the past decade. Each and every piece of feedback has helped shape services for the better and those services are delivered to improve the lives of Doncaster residents be it in health, social care or in community led settings. This work spans influencing the NHS Long term plan, GP Access, true Coproduction of Dementia services and South Yorkshire Joint Forward Plan.
As we look ahead our three golden threads for the future are:
-Tackling Health Inequalities so everyone can access equal healthcare
- Coproduction to shape services with the people who will benefit from the service relevant to them
- Continue meaningful engagement to make change happen where it is needed the most
We cannot wait to be back in another ten years celebrating a double decade of achievements. Healthwatch Doncaster are always here to champion the voice of local people.
