100 eggs donated to Children’s Ward at local hospital
Met by Paediatric specialists within the Trust, the confectionary was donated to youngsters who stayed within both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital throughout the extended weekend.
Matt Timms, Matron for Children and Families, said: “I want to thank everyone at John Mee Construction Ltd for this kind donation. Nobody wants to spend time in hospital if they can help it, but hopefully this thoughtful gift will bring a smile to faces of our younger patients – and possibly one or two members of staff if there any going spare!”
Each year the local firm choose a worthy cause to donate to and, following the challenges of the pandemic since 2020, decided to select the Children’s Ward, and the young patients currently receiving care, as beneficiaries.
The gifts were purchased by the company’s Hire Co-Ordinator, Karen, at the Tesco Extra at Woodfield Plantation in Doncaster, with staff at the store helping to procure and package the egg-ceptional order.
The company, which was initially formed in 1993, provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for vacuum excavation and continue to develop and innovate to provide new solutions and products for the continuous improvement of Health and Safety in the workplace.
John Mee, Managing Director, said: “The past two years have been difficult for everyone, and we decided to direct our efforts this year towards the Children’s Wards at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. I hope this brings a smile to the face of those who are receiving care throughout the Easter period.”
